These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of StoryCodex ("the service", "we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use StoryCodex.

Your account

You sign in with a third-party provider (such as Google). You are responsible for keeping access to that provider account secure and for any activity that happens under your StoryCodex account. You must provide accurate information and be old enough to form a binding agreement in your jurisdiction.

Your content

The books, characters, places, chapters, progression data, and other material you create ("your content") remain yours. We claim no ownership of it. You grant us only the limited permission needed to store, process, and display your content so we can provide the service to you. You are responsible for your content and for having the rights to use it.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the service. In particular, you will not use StoryCodex to break the law, infringe others' rights, upload malicious code, attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service or other accounts, or interfere with its normal operation.

Privacy

Your use of StoryCodex is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what information we collect and how we use it. In short, we do not sell, rent, or share your information with anyone.

Service availability

We work to keep StoryCodex available and your data safe, but the service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may add, change, or remove features, and we may perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability. We recommend keeping your own backups of important content.

Termination

You may stop using StoryCodex and request deletion of your account and content at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or use the service in a way that could cause harm to others or to the service.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, StoryCodex is provided without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of the service.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of StoryCodex after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
